Gain credit towards university
Southern Queensland Institute of TAFE has study credit arrangements with universities. You may be eligible for credit for any TAFE studies you have completed, reducing your study time and university costs.
Many of our Diploma programs can earn up to at least a year's credit towards degree programs.

Courses and pathways to university
Some of our programs have dual enrolment arrangements in place with universities including the University of Southern Queensland.
Once you have gained your diploma through Southern Queensland Institute of TAFE you are eligible for direct entry into second-year university.
This 'direct to university' pathway provides you with credit for your TAFE study equivalent to at least a year of university study, allowing you to graduate with two qualifications in the same time it would take to complete your degree.
You also save on a whole year's HECS-HELP fees - up to $5000.
Your diploma study provides you with the practical skills employers look for, giving you an edge in today's competitive job market. You can even get a head start on your career by getting a job in your chosen industry upon completion of your diploma and while you complete your degree.
For guaranteed entry, you must apply for these programs via Queensland Tertiary Admissions Centre (QTAC). Current dual qualification programs include the following:
