Overseas student health cover
Australia has a compulsory system of Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC) for all international students on student visas.
Cost
The cost of overseas student health cover will depend on how long the student will be studying and must be paid prior to coming to Australia.
Either single or family membership (when a student's spouse and children are also coming to live in Australia) is available.
Student requirements
As an international student at Southern Queensland Institute of TAFE the following requirements apply:
- overseas student health cover is compulsory
- overseas student health cover must be included in your first payment unless you already have cover. If you already have cover, you must attach proof of this along with your payment
- it is a condition of your student visa that you are covered by overseas student health cover for the entire period of your student visa
- it is your responsibility to ensure that your cover is renewed after your arrival in Australia. Visit the Allianz Global Assistance OSHC website for more information.
Please note that if the Southern Queensland Institute of TAFE processes your first OSHC payment, it will cover you through Allianz Global Assistance.
