Part-time courses that require an application
Most part-time courses at Southern Queensland Institute of TAFE don't require an application form to be completed prior to enrolment.
For some part-time courses where there is high demand and specific course entry requirements, an application process similar to the application process for full-time certificate courses takes place.
In these instances the courses will be advertised and an application form should be completed in the first instance. Download the course application form [PDF 187kb] or pick one up from a campus near you.
Part-time/external/online courses that do not require an application, i.e. direct enrolment into course
An application form is not required to be completed however you must have:
-
successfully completed year 10 in Queensland
-
or its interstate or international equivalent or
-
have mature age entry or
-
relevant work experience.
Enrolment is finalised by completing a new student personal details form [PDF 89kb] and an enrolment selection form for the respective course.
Mature age entry
You may be offered a place in a course if you are mature aged (over 18 years old) and yet don't meet the standard entry requrements for a course - through a fast track training process of recognising your experiences, skills and knowledge we can help you turn your experience into a qualification.
Special entry
If you wish to study but do not meet the standard entry requirements you may apply for special consideration. If you can demonstrate special experience or training, or supporting documentation to show educational disadvantage or exceptional circumstances you may be offered a place.
Equity consideration
Special consideration in gaining entry to a course may be given on the basis of disability, merit and equity. If you seek admission to a course under this category you should provide full documentation in support of your application.
Cancellations
Southern Queensland Institute of TAFE reserves the right to cancel courses or courses where insufficient applications or enrolments are received to run the course/class.
