Chef gets qualification through RPL

After cooking for quarter of a century in galleys on private yachts of the rich and famous, Anna Wallace has finally had her culinary skills formally recognised. Ms Wallace recently completed her Certificate III in Commercial Cookery at Southern Queensland Institute of TAFE (SQIT) using the Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) process.

Workshop uses music to develop children's skills

Children in the South Burnett area are set to benefit from a recent workshop for teachers focussing on the role of music in early childhood. The program at Southern Queensland Institute of TAFE's Kingaroy campus was run over two sessions and was based on the techniques developed by Hungarian composer Zoltan Kodaly.

Craig gets Diploma through RPL

Taking time out from his business to complete all the units required for a horticulture diploma would have been impossible for Craig Martin.

However, by using Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) through Southern Queensland Institute of TAFE (SQIT) Mr Martin was able to complete his Diploma of Horticulture, Landscape stream without affecting the business.

Mr Martin said devoting time to both strands of his family business, Martin Garden Centre and Martin Transport, allowed him little time for study.
