SQIT cooking classes - a recipe for learning and laughter
Thursday, 19 July 2012
Southern Queensland Institute of TAFE'S (SQIT) Toowoomba Campus promises to provide a portion of learning and a dash of socialising, combined with layers of fun (and a cherry on top) with its new series of cooking classes starting July 11.
The four session series will cover desserts, chicken, pasta, and potatoes over consecutive Wednesday nights, with the goal of producing delicious food and a considerable amount of fun.
SQIT hospitality teacher and chef Joanna Stratfold said the classes are appropriate for all levels of cooking experience, and participants will walk away with new skills, food to take home, and new friends.
"It doesn't matter whether you're a master chef or specialise in two-minute noodles, there will always be something to learn," Ms Stratfold said.
The dessert class will cover French desserts (July 11), the chicken class will show how to cook chicken in five ways (July 18), the pasta class will focus on using pasta making machines (July 25), and the potato class will reveal how to make the perfect mash, amongst other chefs' secrets (August 1).
Classes begin Wednesday July 11 at 5.00pm (finishing at 9.00pm) and vary in price from $130 - $140.
